Cheryl A. Jones-Hart joined the Riverside family in 2006.  This is her fifth year to serve as the Instructional Coordinator.  She loves being at Riverside because she loves working with children and the exceptional Riverside staff!  Riverside is full of high achievers, just like Mrs. Jones-Hart.

As a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT), Ms. Jones-Hart will serve as a Candidate Support Provider (CSP) for more than a dozen of Riverside's classroom teachers, who are in their first phase of their NBCT pursuit.  Ms. Jones-Hart taught for 14 years and before she left the classroom.

Before becoming second in the chain of command at the best neighborhood school in Shreveport, she taught first grade at Werner Park Elementary School for eight years.  Prior to coming to Caddo, she served for six years in Red River Parish as teacher in the following capacities: Special Education, First, and Second Grades.

Ms. Jones-Hart is a lifelong learner.  In addition to her bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech University, she earned a Master's Degree, plus 30 graduate hours from Louisiana State Louisiana in Shreveport.    Ms. Jones-Hart is the oldest of seven children.  She grew up in Minden, Louisiana.  She is very active in her church, and she ministers to the children of her community.  She is often invited to speak to youth groups in other cities and states.    Mrs. Rothell earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1992 at LSUS.  She taught in several different schools across Caddo Parish.  In 2006, she earned her Master's degree in School Guidance and Counseling from LA Tech University.  In April of 2010, she earned national certification as a counselor/school counselor.

On the personal side, Mrs. Rothell is married to a captain on the Shreveport Fire Department.  They have three sons, Dustin, Dylan, and Dakota.  Dustin serves our country in the United States Navy.  Dylan is attending LA Tech University and majoring in Biology.  Dakota is a freshman at C.E. Byrd High School. Mrs. Rothell enjoys spending time with her family whether she is watching them run cross country, wrestle, or just hanging out at the house.

Finally, Mrs. Rothell is passionate about character education and helping students maximize their potential.  Students will see her daily on KRAM sharing character traits and encouraging them to be the very best they can be.  Please feel free to contact her as concerns arise with your child or if you want to celebrate your child's success.  Mrs. Rothell looks forward to many years with the Riverside family!
