How are parents involved at Riverside?
Parental involvement is one of the key elements that is essential to a successful academic environment. Riverside Elementary School thrives on parental involvement. Each administrator, teacher, and staff member partner with parents each day to contribute to the education and well being of our children. We welcome parents help, input, and support.
1. Set time aside each evening to review your child's homework together. Make this a positive daily experience.
2. Sign your child's student planner each night.
3. Provide a quiet place for your child to study and complete homework assignments. Be sure to turn off the television and other distractions.
4. Review all information placed in the Tuesday Folder and sign the conduct sheet.
5. Read with your child a few minutes each day or ask your child to read to you. Ask them questions related to real-world situations (ex. grocery store).
6. Be a role model for you child. Stay positive about all aspects of school.
7. Attend all parent-teacher conferences. Ask questions about your child's performance and ways to improve performance.
8. Volunteer in your child's classroom.
9. Join the PTA and attend meetings.
10. Attend special events like Math Night, Write Night, and the Fall Festival.
